Our B&B in Abruzzo is close to the sea but make it possible to reach in just few minutes and easily also the mountain. In every season, indeed, we suggest to have a walk at the feet of the majestic Gran Sasso, also known as "the Sleeping giant" due to its profile. Located into the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga Park, this massif dominates with the Corno Grande, the Corno Piccolo (where there is the Ghiacciaio del Calderone, the second most southern glacier of Europe), Monte Camicia, Monte Prena, the wonderful upland of Campo Imperatore and other peaks, that is possible to explore and climb, discovering breathtaking panoramas.
In the surroundings of the B&B, the area also offers the opportunity to know and visit fascinating villages and small cities of art. Among these, there is certainly Atri , 15 'located on majestic natural gullies, which in this area take on spectacular shapes, and full of medieval buildings and squares. Piazza del Duomo and Piazza dei Duchi d'Acquaviva stand out for their beauty and monumentality. A few minutes from Atri there is Silvi Alta , of medieval origins, from which you can enjoy suggestive views. Moving towards the Teramo hinterland, you come across other villages of considerable landscape, historical and artistic interest, such as Castelbasso, home to a long review of art events every summer, Castellalto, Campliwith the Holy Stairs where the faithful walk along it on their knees, gathered in prayer, passing through the paintings that recall the Passions of Christ, and see all their sins forgiven. Civitella del Tronto , known for preserving in perfect condition the last Bourbon fortress to fall before the unification of Italy, and Castelli known internationally for its ceramics, a tradition that dates back to the Renaissance period, Rocca Calascio used as a setting for numerous films such as LadyHawke, and Santo Stefano di Sessanio also known for lentils
The specific morphology of the Abruzzo make our Region rich of typical local items and products and food and wine excellencies. Local recipes recall the ancient agri-pastoral tradition, typical of the hill and mounty areas, and the marine one. One passes from the strong taste of cold cuts, cheeses, ovine meat to the delicate smells of the sea with the brodetto soup. Among the typical dishes to be tasted, we suggest you the arrosticini, the fried cheese, the "mazzarelle", the timballo, the "scrippelle 'mbsse", the "virtù", typical dish cooked on the occasion of the 1st of May, the fish-based "guazzetto". The cooking richness of our Region is equal to that one of wines, known in Italy to the quality of its products.
Between sea and mountain, our Region gives the chance to be explored and lived far and wide, thanks to its many natural treasures. Think about the upland of Campo Imperatore, that is wonderful in any season, and to places of uncommon beauty such as rocca Calascio, to the Lake of Campotosto, to the green areas in the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, just to have an idea of what the Abruzzo is. But, there is a lot more that fascinates tourists in the South and in the West areas of our Region: the Cerrano marine area, the Trabocchi Coast, the Majella, the lakes of Scanno, Barrea, San Domenico, the Abruzzo, Latium and Molise National Park, the Majella National Park and much more...
